Virgin Media is a British telecommunications company, which provides telephone, television and internet services in the United Kingdom. Green Park in Reading is where it's headquarters are located. Many of the company's videos, including ones starring Richard Branson and David Tennant, are still available on the internet. Virgin Media O2, a 50:50 joint venture between Liberty Global and Telefnica is owned by it.

Virgin Media owns and operates a fibre-optic cable network in the United Kingdom, but in most areas optical fibre does not reach customer limits, instead going to a nearby street Virgin media to provide a fiber to the cabinet service. As of December 31, 2012 it had a total of approximately 2.8 million cable customers, of which around 3.79 million were supplied with Virgin TV, 4.2 million with broadband internet services, and 5.1 million with fixed-line telephony services.

Our general advice for existing Virgin Media customers is the same as every other provider: always look at what else is out there and compare it to Virgin’s existing customer offers.

Switching at the end of the contract could net you a great value deal as you can take advantage of the rewards given to new customers. And because providers tend to increase costs for existing customers at the end of a contract, it is usually the best way to keep monthly costs as low as possible.
